My favorite part of Flag Day is driving around and seeing all the Red, White, and Blue flying proudly around town, reminding me of what it is to be an American and having allegience to my wonderful country.
ReplyDeleteFlag Day, June 14, 1991, was my first date with my hubby! ♥
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is learning about the people that represent the flag.

I love Flag Day because looking at the flag reminds me of our freedom and all those who have fought and continue to fight for not only the freedom of our own country but other countries as well.

I don't even know where to begin:) I love that I am learning so much about our flag along with my kids. I love that I can help them realize the blessing we have right before us in our freedoms and those who fought so hard to get us there. I love that it really helps them see more than just a flag with a bunch of stars and some stripes thrown on there! Thank you so much for your incredible resources. They are amazing and eye opening!

I am happy and blessed to be able to teach my children at home, what I love most about Flag Day and other patriotic celebrations is being able to teach them the true history of our nation with its Christian foundation still intact and to teach them to be proud Americans and to continue fighting for our rights as Christians and those foundations. I also teach them to respect and pray for our service men and women and the flag reminds us of their bravery and sacrifices, as well as those of their families. My kids would love flying the flag at home because every time we see a flag anywhere, they excitedly stop and recite the pledge of allegiance. They would be even more excited to be able to put it up as we are working on the Flag Day unit study!
ReplyDeleteWe love patriotic holidays at our house! Love the Red, White and Blue. My children really love learning about our country and it's history. That's probably our favorite part of Flag Day! That and the opportunity to make or bake a delicious red, white and blue treat. :-)

ReplyDeletePS: We love the Download N Go unit studies. I've been a textbook type homeschooler for several years, but we use unit studies every once in a while for a week of fun learning and it's amazing what the children learn and retain when we do that! I was thrilled to be able to get the Memorial Day and Flag Day studies for $3 each! We can't wait to start one of them.

I love seeing all the flags flying around town. Now that my husband serves in the military, I think even more now about those who have fought for our precious freedoms.
