Unit of the Week - Summer Sensations Download N Go

It is that time of year again! Time to watch the trees grow and enjoy their shade, feel the hot temperatures, and enjoy a slower pace of life as summer spreads through the neighborhood. Change is in the air, and it is an exciting change to kids of all ages.

Now, let’s take all of their pent-up excitement and enthusiasm and put it to good use as they dive right into learning about this new season and all that it holds.

Across many parts of the world, this season brings the smell of freshly cut grass, the sound of the ice cream truck circling the neighborhood, garden-fresh produce, and the laughter and squeals of children from the backyard as they play in the sprinkler. The discoveries of change and new growth
are endless in this season, and, like all of our seasons, this one was made to be enjoyed.

At our house, summer brings some wonderful changes to our lives. The garden is growing, and homegrown fruit and vegetables begin to cover the kitchen counter. We also enjoy the view of fireflies and the evening’s stars as the day cools off. When these things begin to happen, I know that summer has arrived. How do you know that it is summertime?
