This day is such an important patriotic holiday for Americans -- I hope that you and your families are taking time to remember why we observe Memorial Day. We will be joining with other Americans as we observe the National Moment of Remembrance beginning at 3:00 p.m., local time, on Memorial Day, as proclaimed by President Bush.
We give thanks today to the millions that have served our country to defend our freedom. As one of the young men serving our country reminded me, "Freedom isn't free!"
