Unit of the Week - Baseball Unit Studies Adventure

Come join the fun of America’s favorite pastime—baseball! Step up to the plate and learn more than you can imagine about this much-loved sport.

Learn the techniques of good batting by visiting Internet sites that teach the basics and then watch videos that demonstrate them. Understand forces and momentum by studying why a curve ball curves, and learn about reflexes and reaction time, and how they help us in sports. And did you know that finding the “sweet spot” of a bat is based on physics? We’ll also get to know the legends of baseball and see how the game has changed over the years. Enjoy this fascinating study of the sport everyone loves while learning geography, history, science, math, and more.

The Baseball unit is a four week long, K-12, learning adventure.  It is an electronic format, meaning your children can work through the study interactively, clicking on the links in each lesson to further their own investigation. Each day's lesson plan has been written in two levels: Lower Level (elementary grades) and Upper Level (junior/senior high grades), enabling the whole family to learn together!
